TARGET GROUP - Personnel involved in fire and non-fire project assignments with helicopters.

COURSE DESCRIPTION - A combined classroom/field course designed to proved trainee proficiency in all areas of the tactical and logistical use of helicopters to achieve efficency and standardization. Instructional topics include: aviation safety, aircraft capabilities and limitations, aviation life support equipment, aviation mishap reporting, pre-flight checklist and briefing/debriefing, aviation transportation of hazardous materials, crash survival, helicopter operations and helicopter field exercises. This course contains the following OAS modules: A101, A104, A105, A106, A108, A110, A113, A209 and A210.

COURSE OBJECTIVES - Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Identify the skills necessary to work with a helicopter in the performance of tasks standard to helicopter operations.
• Identify required safety procedures related to working with helicopters.
