Mission Statement

The Klamath Falls Interagency Fire Center has two major components to its mission. It is established to provide a safe, effective and efficient environment at the Klamath Fall Air Tanker Base for the support of aerial firefighting resources. The Klamath Falls Interagency Fire Dispatch Center is established to provide initial attack dispatching and logistical support for all hazard emergency management on federal and state protected lands in the Klamath Basin, and mobilizing resources for incidents. The Fire Center provides services for incidents throughout South Central Oregon, the Pacific Northwest, and the Nation.

Prescribed Burning to begin in the SCOFMP area

Lakeview, Oregon - Prescribed burning has begun across the SCOFMP area. The Bly Ranger District has two large prescribed fire underburns going at this time, The Bly Ridge WUI is 3 miles west of Bly on HWY 140. They also have Mortar Coyote which is in the Yaniax butte area.The Lakeview Ranger District has begun underburn operations around Strawberry Reservoir west of Lakeview. The Lakeview BLM has two juniper pile units they are burning the Ana RX is located in the Ana Reservoir area near Summer Lake, as well as Bridge Creek west of Silver Lake. The Winter Rim zone has begun operations on the Brattain Ridge RX which is located in the Sycan Marsh area. The Fish and wildlife also has planned prescribed burns planned for the Hart Mtn and Sheldon Refuge.
