Annie Fire is Airtankers Base's First Major Activity

Klamath Falls, Oregon - The Klamath Falls Airtanker Base saw its first significant activity supporting the Annie Fire for the BLM Northern California Resource Area and Modoc National Forest. The base pumped 28,627 gallons of fire retardant into 4 airtankers delivering 17 loads to the fire. Working from the base was tanker 142 a Convair 580, tankers 11 and 12 both Neptune P2V's and tanker 94 a Cal Fire Grumman S2T.
Canadians Help Knock Down Ana Fire

Klamath Falls, Oregon - Two Convair 580 airtankers on loan to the "lower 48" working on a State of Alaska contract and an operating agreement with the Forest Service spun into Klamath Falls for two quick loads of retardant on the Ana fire. The airtankers operated by the Canadian company Conair put out 4150 gallons from the Klamath Falls base. Click photos for larger view.
