Annie Fire is Airtankers Base's First Major Activity

Klamath Falls, Oregon - The Klamath Falls Airtanker Base saw its first significant activity supporting the Annie Fire for the BLM Northern California Resource Area and Modoc National Forest. The base pumped 28,627 gallons of fire retardant into 4 airtankers delivering 17 loads to the fire. Working from the base was tanker 142 a Convair 580, tankers 11 and 12 both Neptune P2V's and tanker 94 a Cal Fire Grumman S2T.
Medford Base Supports First Fire

Medford, Oregon - The Medford Airtanker Base saw some activity supporting the Beals Creek fire on July 5th 2011. Two CalFire S2T tankers 94 and 95 came up from California to take 5 loads from MFR to the fire. Medford took the lead on retardant pumped with the 4994 gallons delivered to the fire. Base personnel got their first hands on hot loading training for the season. Click photos for larger view.

Klamath Falls, Oregon - The Klamath Falls Airtanker Base delivered its first load of retardant for the 2011 fire season. On June 8th at 16:00 tanker 75 an S2T coming all the way from Paso Robles reloaded at LMT for the Cougar fire on the Modoc National Forest. Tanker 75 took 976 gallons to start the season.
